People all over the world make promises to change something they’re not happy with in their life. These range from finally starting that side income to vowing to lose weight. The problem is that 90 percent of the people who make personal promises, stop trying after the first setback. Have you ever wondered why this happens? What makes it so hard to follow through with your promise and accomplish your goals?
Many things can stand in the way and make it difficult to keep your commitment such as not making realistic goals. Take losing weight for example. If you vow to lose 60 pounds by the end of the year but you have no intention or desire to change your eating habits and begin an exercise routine, you’re going to give up on that goal very quickly. You can’t lose weight without putting forth the effort and if it takes more effort than you’re willing to put into it, then it’s much easier to just give up.
Another thing that may stand in your way of keeping your promise is making commitments that you don’t really want to do. If someone else is pushing you to make a change and you’re not fully committed to it, then it’s not going to work. Keeping your promises takes willpower and determination and you won’t have either one when you’re trying to keep a promise that you didn’t really want to do in the first place. Your audience will leave with specific actions they can use to jump start their next move.
